Turning Donations into Action
As you know, the ultimate path that the “ballroom” project takes is yet to be determined. We have made the strategic decision not to “wait and see” what that path will be. Therefore, we want to be 100% transparent in how your donations are to be used. Below are the three possible scenarios that we believe we will be faced with. Each will impact differently how your money will be utilized.
If…
the “ballroom” is built as currently proposed, your donation will be used to dismantle it and up-cycle the recovered materials to be used for social projects around the country. We are exploring ideas such as community parks and playgrounds, women’s shelters, food pantries and similar.
If…
the courts hold and construction of the “ballroom” is halted, your donation will be used to help restore the East Wing, one that respects and compliments the architecture and history of the White House, and includes an appropriately-sized event space.
If…
the current plan for the “ballroom” is revised such that it is appropriately sized, respects the architecture and history of the White House, is then approved after proper public review then your donation will be used to support improve and protect our national parks and monuments.
